To the unconscious mind a visit to the Astral Realms equates to nothing more than dreams. But mages know better. They know that the Astral Realms are a gateway to the center of the cosmos.

Traveling between the Astral Realms is normally a reflexive (Willpower may not be spent) and extended Wits + Composure roll. Each successive realm has a difficulty 5 greater than the level before, starting with a difficulty of 5 for Meditation. Every roll reflects 30 minutes in the waking world and an equal duration within the dream. Time within a dream though can seem an ephemeral concept and may stretch or shrink as the character’s perceptions do.

There are 5 domains within the Astral Realms:

Meditation Any mage or mortal may reach meditation. It helps center the mind and the body.
The Waking Dream Mortals and mages alike reach the dreamworld where their individual mind tells stories of subconscious desires and fears. A dream traveler that reaches into this world consciously experiences lucid dreaming.
Oneiros Only mages may travel past The Waking Dream into Oneiros. Here a mage may explore their own subconscious and unconscious desires and fears. Inner demons plague the traveler and attempt to wrest control of the mage’s “self.”
Temenos This is the world of collective dreaming and is a place where mages and other creatures meet to explore the subconscious identity of humanity and the supernatural populations. Here social memes and archetypes gain life and power from the beliefs of the mortal world.
The Dreaming At the deepest level of the Astral Realms lies the collective unconsciousness of all that is and ever will be. You may know the will of the flowers, take tea with a tortoise or merely seek to hold intact your identity versus the primal soul of the universe as It dreams all things into their optimum form.
